ChinesescientistshavesuccessfullyrevealedthemysteryoftheMajoranafermion,aspecialtypeofelementaryparticle,andtheirobservationsarelikelytotriggeranewroundofworktowardquantumcomputers.
Inphysics,theelementaryparticleisbasic-thesmallestknownunitofmatter.Ingeneral,eachelementaryparticlehasitsownantiparticle.
Overthepasteightdecades,particlephysicistsaroundtheworldhaveinvestedalotofenergyinanefforttoprovetheexistenceofaspecialtypeofelementaryparticle,theMajoranafermion,orMF,whichwassuggestedbyItalianscientistEttoreMajoranain1937.
